About this event
Earlier this year, we at Digital Pathfinders set out to investigate whether AI as a technology could be a force for social good, not just another source of problems we didn't ask for like most news headlines today tend to suggest. And now, we’d like to share what we found.
Artificial intelligence isn't just about chatbots and productivity hacks. It's being used right now to monitor air quality in cities, protect endangered species, and save lives in neonatal care.
This one-hour webinar introduces the emerging field of ‘AI for Good’: the application of machine learning and data science to tackle real-world challenges in healthcare, environmental protection, and disaster response.
You'll learn about the 'do no harm' principle, which puts ethics and impact at the centre of AI development. Through case studies from Bogotá to biodiversity monitoring projects, you'll hear how computer vision, predictive modelling, and natural language processing are being deployed to address problems at scale.
This session suits anyone curious about the social applications of AI, whether you work in the charity sector, public health, environmental science, or simply want to understand how these technologies can be a genuine force for good rather than just another tool for efficiency.
No prior technical understanding of these topics is required, just a curious mind!
