Aspects of Integration: Exploring Emerging Theories and Practice

Join the Community at AICTP Conference on Integrative Practice 2019!

There is a meeting point where coaching, counselling, psychotherapy and other approaches meet, complement and enhance one another for solid results and lasting effectiveness. The AICTP (Association for Integrative Coach-Therapist Professionals) exists to provide a home for and to support new and established integrative practitioners.

Following the success of last year’s conference on integrative practice, it gives us great pleasure to announce the third annual AICTP conference event.

Our keynote speakers are:

  • Julia Vaughan Smith (executive coach supervisor, integrative psychotherapist and psyche-trauma therapy practitioner).
Integrative Coaching, trauma and personal change.

“In this session I will clarify what trauma is, how it presents within the one to one work we do, what our contribution to trauma healing might be within the boundaries of our practice, and why some clients are unable to take on the personal change they may seek”

  • Michelle Lucas (an experienced and Accredited Master Executive Coach and coaching supervisor, a Coach Trainer and emerging author in the coaching supervision field) and Dr Louise Sheppard (an APECS accrediated executive coach and coaching supervisor). How can we create a collaborative supervision partnership?
Michelle and Louise’s keynote session will offer an invaluable opportunity to help shape the understanding of the supervision partnership. They share the belief that supervision works best when there is genuine parity in the relationship. Michelle has looked at the mind-set of the supervisor and Louise from the supervisee perspective.

  • Dr Trevor Gedeon (MbChB, MRCPsych, Forensic Psychiatrist from Chimp Management Ltd). The Chimp Paradox / Model of Professor Steve Peters.
This introductory talk will explore the Chimp Model of the psychological brain, how these parts of the brain work independently and how these systems fit together and influence thoughts, actions and behaviours. He will illustrate how this innovative model can be used to help people manage their minds so that they can achieve better mental wellbeing and by virtue of that harness their inner chimp to manage stress, develop resilience and achieve excellence.

There will also be a choice of inspiring and stimulating workshops:

  • Diane Danzebrink - Menopause Support – how integrated therapy can help - As integrative therapists we are ideally placed to offer support and guidance through the menopause transition when we are able to recognise these hormonal shifts in our clients.

  • Kate Manley - Deep Coaching: Integrating Psychology, Coaching and Spirituality- An introduction to a mindfulness-based therapeutic coaching approach new to the UK, integrating psychological understanding, compassionate coaching and spiritual exploration using the wisdom of the Enneagram.

  • Yannick Jacob & Carley Sime - Are Coaches Crossing the Line? - Delivering up to date research which explores how coaches identify and work with roles, borders and boundaries in their actual day to day practice.

  • Mark Hick - The Interface of Coaching and Counselling in Law Firms - Research from a coaching sponsor perspective exploring the interface of coaching and counselling in law firms.

  • Michelle Lucas - What Kind of Misfit are You? - An interactive workshop taking a playful and creative approach to inspiring people to understand their helping practitioner signature.

  • Dr Pat Gwyer - The Relationship Between Positive Psychology, Wellbeing Coaching, Peer Support and Clinical/Therapeutic Approaches to Wellbeing, Happiness and Success - This workshop aims to investigate and demonstrate how a Wellness Staging Framework (WSF) based upon the severity and complexity of presentation can be used as a way to safely allocate potential clients to the most appropriate type of support.

The focus is relevant to practitioners working in the fields of behavioural, mental and emotional health, and those working within a business coaching context who wish to broaden their offer and increase their therapeutic awareness.
