AID Mental Health Event
Event Information
About this Event
Event Details
ASSETS meaning individuals’ strengths, networks with organisations, social groups and neighbourhoods–are important to all of us for our mental health. This event will explore specifically how assets influence decision making and outcomes of Mental Health Tribunals/Managers’ hearings.
Nottingham Trent University in partnership with the University of Nottingham want to hear from mental health service users , carers, clinicians, mental health professionals (including managers) legal representatives, lay people and social workers about what you understand by ‘assets’ and how they influence decisions that directly affect an individual’s future, freedom and liberty. It is not necessary to have experience of Mental Health Tribunals to attend this event.
It is important to understand the role assets play in decision making because the review of the Mental Health Act means we will need to be more mindful of social inequalities and encourage greater involvement of people who use services and their care networks in future.
The event will be facilitated by Professor Di Bailey from NTU and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
