Event description


This course enables you to gain two nationally recognized units in volunteer management. You will get support from a mentor, take part in tutorials online with other learners on the course and complete assignments through VAL’s website. Each assignment is based on work that you do with volunteers.

Why attend?

You will gain a recognised qualification using materials put together from your own experience as a volunteer manager. If you are new to volunteering then you will gain much needed skills to deal with situations that might arise when recruiting and supporting an unpaid workforce.

There are two units:

Recruiting volunteers:

Roles, responsibilities and rights of volunteers
Approaches to volunteer recruitment
Keeping your volunteers

Supporting, managing and developing volunteers:

Best practice in supporting volunteers
Motivating volunteers and reviewing performance
Developing the skills of your volunteers
Resolving conflict

Who is this course suitable for?

This course is ideal for those who manage volunteers or are looking to manage volunteers more effectively. It is ideal for learners who do not have time to spend a lot of time in classrooms and would like the freedom to study by themselves with the support of other volunteer manager

Entry requirements

You will need to demonstrate English at level two before starting the course. Participants will be required to take part in a number of online tutorials so access to a laptop or computer with internet is essential.
