Aiming for Net Zero – A practical workshop

Climate change is a global challenge and every business has a responsibility to take steps to reduce the impact on the environment and community in which it exists.

We’re aware that businesses like yours are keen to make changes, but often don’t know where to start, are uncertain about which approach to take, or don’t have the funds to employ a specialist.

Our Aiming for Net Zero workshop aims to give companies a starting point, as well as tips, advice and inspiration to progress along the journey to Net Zero. By the end of the workshop attendees will be able to create their own carbon footprint, carbon reduction plan and make a Net Zero pledge.

During the practical, interactive half-day session our expert trainer will explore three different modules, covering topics such as:

• Why Net Zero is relevant to business

• First steps to Net Zero

• How much carbon your business emits

• How your business can reduce its carbon emissions

• Business opportunities from progressing to Net Zero

• Incorporating Net Zero into business operations and planning

Delegates will also have the opportunity to join peer groups, listen to experts and ask questions.

As part of the course you will also receive an exclusive workbook and certificate on completion.

Who should attend?

This workshop is suitable for SMEs of all sizes who would like to learn more about achieving Net Zero and how to get started or progress on their own business’s carbon reduction journey.

We are delivering this valuable course for a special introductory price of £150 + VAT for non-members*. Chamber members can join the session free of charge. You may also be eligible for one free place per Company if you are on the SEIC Net Zero programme, please email us on netzero@businesswest.co.uk to check and we will issue you with a code.

We are aiming to repeat this workshop to enable as many businesses as possible to participate, our next workshop will be running on the 6th July. We are also running a series of Net Zero Lunch and Learn online events, focusing on different topics with the aim of helping business on their Net Zero journey. We will have expert speakers sharing their experiences and top tips, and provide an opportunity for businesses to find out more about topics and join in discussions with their peers. Our next Lunch and Learn event will take place on May 24th featuring Carbon Reduction and Offsetting, followed by July 19th where the topic will be centred upon Green Supply Chains.
