Event description

Description

To celebrate our Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Foundation 8th Anniversary we felt we should reach for the stars and visit the summit of the highest freestanding mountain on Earth..Mt Kilimanjaro...

Crowned with an everlasting snow-cap, this majestic mountain can be found inside the Kilimanjaro National Park of Tanzania, at 005.00 degrees south, 036 degrees east, 5895m a.m.s.l.

On many peoples bucket list this is certainly a musical adventure not to be missed headed up by DJ Ease - AKA Nightmares on Wax .

A trek to the summit of Kilimanjaro is a magnificent and spectacular undertaking, one which ranks among the greatest outdoor challenges on the planet.

Our tour operator partner have been taking people on guided climbs of Kilimanjaro since 1984 & have taken over 150,000.

As this is a charity climb we will be aiming our fundraising at Featherstale special needs children home, we are already financing phase 1 of the building of a new purpose built 20 bed special needs kids home. The home is based at the base of Kilimanjaro and we feel the funds should stay locally for the people of that region who need it, also we have the opportunity to visit the children and home. There will be a minimum fundraising amount which has not been decided on as yet but is very important to us all.

We will have limited places available and initially we only wanted to register interest on here no strings attached before moving to stage 2 and sharing prices and taking deposits from those serious.

Prices will roughly be £2500 including flights.

Minimum fundraising will be set around £2000 per person.

We are looking at various 6/7 days climb routes at present to increase the time to acclimatise therefore be successful. Total days including flying times should be around 10 days.

Generally speaking, the fitter you are, the greater your chances of summit success, although this is far from being a hard and fast rule. Often it is the more determined people who get to the top, so mental fitness and focus is also a major component. The extent to which you will be affected by altitude sickness also seems not to be directly linked to absolute fitness. It should be possible for you to give yourself as high as a 90% chance of getting to the crater rim of Kilimanjaro just by getting the plan properly formulated.

Added extra days can be added to go on Safari's also.

To celebrate our success we will be celebrating hosting our own cultural festival in beautful gardens at our hotel featuring DJ's , local musicians , tribes people and a whole host of interesting people...

So for now we just need you to register to receive more information as we receive it in the coming weeks.

We look forward to sharing more with you.

Smiles
