Air Pollution - What can we do about it?
Event Information
Description
Nearly 9,500 people die prematurely every year in London due to air pollution. It disproportionately affects some of the most vulnerable members of our society. Some streets surpassed their annual limit in just five days in January. Last April, several schools in Barnet were revealed to be exposed to high levels of pollution. What steps can we take to tackle this growing crisis? What can we do to reduce our exposure? This public meeting aims to inform and encourage a lively debate about air pollution, with a brief talk from each member of the panel followed by an audience Q&A. All welcome.
Speakers include:
Jean Lambert | Green MEP
Paul Drummond | Senior Research Associate | UCL
Aaron Kiely | Campaigner | Friends of the Earth
Andrea Lee | Healthy Air Campaigner | Client Earth
Come and join us for an evening of debate and constructive thought about how to approach this problem facing Barnet and all of London. Refreshments will be available and there will be a chance to network with other local people at the end.
