An amazing opportunity to marvel at the sight and sound of the Avro Shackleton and English Electric Lightning at the Gatwick Aviation Museum on Sat 13th September. Get up close and personal with these iconic aircraft as their engines roar to life. Feel the power as you witness these incredible machines in action. Don't miss out on this unique experience as aviation history comes alive! We will also have fantastic Tank rides and East Meets West Forces Re-enactment with us, offering a vivid glimpse into the Cold War era of the 1970s and 1980s.

Frequently asked questions

Are there disabled parking spaces?

Yes, there will be designated parking for blue badge holders. Please ensure you have your badge displayed on arrival.

Does the event ticket include entry into the Museum?

Yes, the event ticket includes entry into the Museum from 10am and you are welcome to stay all day and enjoy everything there is to see until closing at 5pm.

Can I bring my dog?

Whilst the Museum is dog friendly, we don't recommend your bring dogs due to the loud noises which may distress them. Assistance dogs are very welcome.

Will there be food and drink available?

Our Coffee shop will be open serving hot and cold drinks and light snacks, cakes and ice creams. There will also be hot food trucks serving a range of delicious food. You are welcome to bring your own picnic.

Will the Museum's Gatwick runway viewing area be open?

The viewing area will be open from 10am until 11.30am, 30 before the first engine run for health and safety. It will be open again from 12.30pm to 1.30pm and then close for the second engine run. It will then be open from 2.30pm to the end of the day closing at 5pm.
