Event description
Airworthiness - Effective problem solving and root cause identification

About this Event

Following two successful CAA Airworthiness Seminars focusing on Effective Problem Solving and Root Cause Identification delivered in February 2019, the CAA is organising an identical event on 14th October 2019 in Derby. Effective root cause analysis and appropriate corrective/preventive action plans have been proven to benefit organisations by reducing costs, increasing efficiencies and contributing to continuous improvement and safety enhancements.

From a CAA perspective, the quality of responses to events (findings/non-conformances/occurrences) outlining root cause, corrective and preventive actions varies considerably and is believed to contribute, at least in part, to repeat or similar events that can lead to increased costs and safety risks. Therefore, Root Cause Identification features as one of the Airworthiness focus areas.

In April 2019, the CAA published CAP1760 - guidance material on Effective Problem Solving and Root Cause Identification. This seminar presents an opportunity for the CAA to communicate current thinking on this subject while providing a forum for Industry Stakeholders to share their experience and best practices.

Agenda for the day (subject to change):

We look forward to seeing you at the seminar.

Yours sincerely,
