US & ISRAEL: BUSINESS AS USUAL?
In this episode of Head to Head, Mehdi Hasan challenges former US Ambassador Martin Indyk on whether the US has been an honest broker in the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Formerly US Ambassador to Israel, Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs, and Special Envoy for Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations, Martin Indyk has been at the heart of US-Israel relations for over two decades.
We challenge him on whether the United States has been an unbiased mediator in peace talks, or whether its role has been to play “Israel’s lawyer” at the expense of peace in the Middle East.
We also examine the current state of the American-Israeli relationship, asking whether recent tensions have diminished the countries’ close ties, or whether it is, in fact, business as usual.
- Is the US a roadblock to MidEast peace?
- Or is it the only viable broker?
