Al Murray in Conversation with James Holland Command – How the Allies Learned to Win the Second World War

About this event

Al Murray is one of the UK’s best-loved comedians. He is also a self-confessed military history addict and co-host of the hit history podcast, We Have Ways of Making You Talk, with historian James Holland. In Command Murray provides a unique analysis of the greatest commanders who helped the allies win the Second World War. He highlights the performance and careers of some of the key protagonists who commanded armies, as well as the lesser-known officers who led divisions, regiments and even battalions for the armies of the British, Commonwealth and USA. By showcasing each combat commander, and the challenges they faced, Murray tells the story of how the Western Allies rebounded from early defeats including Dunkirk and Pearl Harbour to victories such as El Alamein and D-Day.
