About this event

Alan Turing is considered the Father of modern computing and well known for his code-breaking work during the Second World War.

Guildford was the home of Alan Turing, where he grew up, and continued to visit his family members right up to his tragic death.

See the Turing locations and experience the unfolding drama.

Meeting point: G-Live main entrance, London Road, GU1 2AA.

Duration: The new walk route is circular and lasts 90 minutes approximately.

There are some steep slopes which are not suitable for those with limited mobility.

A fully-illustrated publication telling the stories and highlighting the locations associated with Alan Turing and his time in Guildford is on sale at the Guildford Tourist Information Centre. It talks about the man behind the genius and why Guildford was such an important part of his relatively short life.

We are a small band of enthusiastic volunteers who lead walking tours in Guildford town centre with the support of Guildford Borough Council. Each year we take thousands of people, adults and children on guided walks.
