Description

**UPDATE**

Thank you to all who have registered their interest to attend the discussion with the Minister of Diaspora Affairs of Albania on 11 February 2018. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to reschedule this event for: Sunday 18th March 2018 from 5pm-7pm at the above new location. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope to see you on 18th March. The Eventbrite has been updated to reflect this change.

-------------------------------------------------

An overarching talk by the current Minister for Diaspora Affairs and former Prime Minister of Albania, Mr Pandeli Majko. The country has gone through significant change since the fall of communism and its current Government has recently established a department dedicated to the Diaspora Affairs. This will be an opportunity to discuss and debate on how to best involve the large community of Albanians living abroad in the decision making and development of the country as well as establish a bridge of constant communication with its citizens living abroad.

In the wider context, the Balkans have enjoyed a period of peace since the last conflict in Kosovo in 1999 and it’s countries have, over the past few years, been talking about cooperation rather than conflict. As an experienced politician, Mr Majko will share his views and experiences.

Please note: this event is open to students as well as the general public and is on a weekend. Ensure you have reserved a ticket, as you will not be admitted in.
