Alberto Meda: Unexpected results...
Fri 7 April 2017, 11:00 – 11:50 CEST
The full title of Alberto Meda's lecture is The interaction between thinking and doing gives unexpected results…
Something that Meda exemplifies with the frame family by Alias, from 1989 to today: "The idea was to make a structure combining extruded and die cast aluminium parts. The extruded is designed in a way to contain the fabric, like the mast of a sail, in some positions it is curved and milled to accommodate flush the cast pieces so as not to see the junction node. When I started the Frame project, I never imagined the number of typology we would have done…with the same constructive concept. Now Alias has a whole catalogue totally unplanned !".
The lecture of Alberto Meda is one in a series of eleven Design Language Talks that are organized at the international design exhibition Design Language during the Milan Design Week.
