Event description

Description

The potency of the unconscious is beautifully expressed in the illustrations to the “Rosarium “. In our own individual ways we will take the opportunity in this workshop to reflect and explore these images. We will also be guided and informed by C.G.Jung’s ‘Account of the Transference Phenomena Based on the Illustrations to the Rosarium philosophorum’ CW, Vol 16.

This is more about the poet’s eye than the analytical one. In these alchemical illustrations we can work with symbols allowing them to work on us and with us in furthering our understanding of ourselves.

As C.G. Jung says : “The reason ( for referring to alchemical symbolism) and inner necessity for this lie in the fact that it is only possible to come to a right understanding and appreciation of a contemporary psychological problem when we can reach a point outside our own time from which to observe it”,

If you would like to respond to these images by drawing you are most welcome to bring pencil and paper. There will be no pressure to share reflections unless you so wish.
