Thank you for your interest in Alcohol Identification and Brief Advice Training.

This in-person half day training session covers:

  • What units are and how to calculate them.
  • The Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT).
  • How to complete the AUDIT and have conversations with people about their result.
  • The risks and dangers associated with alcohol use.
  • How to signpost to specialist substance use services for further support and give safe harm reduction advice.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do if I am going to be late?

Please ring 0800 066 5362 to inform staff if you are running late. There is a 20 minute arrival window. If you arrive after this, you may not be able to proceed with the training and will need to rebook.

What if I am unable to stay for the duration of the training?

Please ensure when booking onto the training that you have the availability to stay for the full duration. Please note that training certificates may not be issued to those who have not stayed for the full duration of the training.

Should I arrive early for the training?

We ask that you arrive 15 minutes early to the training session for sign in, to ensure a prompt start.

What should I do if I would like training for my whole team?

For group training requests, please email info@nottinghamrecoverynetwork.com and they will be able to follow this up with you.

What if I can no longer attend?

There are limited tickets for each event. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your booking through Eventbrite so someone else can book on. Alternatively, you can call 0800 066 5362 or email info@nottinghamrecoverynetwork.com to cancel.

Where should I go when I arrive at The Wellbeing Hub?

When you arrive, please inform the staff at reception that you are here for the Alcohol IBA Training and someone will escort you to the training room.

Is there parking?

There is no parking at the Wellbeing Hub. The closest car parks are St. James Street (<1mi), Maid Marian Way (<1mi), Mount Street (<1mi) and Hounds Gate (<1mi). The hub is a 5 minute walk from the Old Market Square Tram Stop and a 5-10 minute walk from Nottingham City Centre bus stops.

Is there accessible access?

Yes, the main entrance is accessible. There is also an elevator that can be used to go between floors if needed. Th training room is on the 2nd floor.

Will there be refreshments?

Tea/coffee/water and biscuits will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own drink/food to have during the training if desired.
