SciTech Extravaganza invites families to enjoy a day filled with fun science-themed activities and shows, new skill-building opportunities and the chance to experience the magic of Alderley Park.

Activity highlights of the day include a programme of interactive shows shining a spotlight on ‘Super Cells in collaboration with the Royal Institution (Ri). Each interactive show, delivered by Ri presenters, will dive deep into the science of cells showing how bacteria and viruses “invade our bodies” and what we can do to fight back. The shows will be delivered in a fun and engaging style; with three shows taking place across the day (please ensure you book time slots in the ticket section):

10:30 – 11:15: Super Cells – KS1

12:15 – 13:00: Fuel the Future – KS2

14:15 – 15:00: Community Show

Balloon scientist, and Britain's Got Talent star - David Crofts, will be hosting workshops, teaching children all about elasticity, aerodynamics, pressure, static electricity and many other topics, all whilst creating larger than life balloon art for attendees to admire. Smaller balloon masterpieces will be available for children to take home.

Cheshire-based Master Chocolatier, Oliver Dunn aka Oli The Choc is on a mission to unlock your creativity in a chocolate making workshop. Come and enjoy the magic of Chocolate. Please ensure you book a slot in the ticket section.

For those looking to enhance their young tech skills, crumble coding sessions and simple introductions to computing will be hosted by Cheshire based STEM workshop creators, Skill Supply. They will have 2 activities running simultaneously, 4 times throughout the day (please ensure you book time slots in the ticket section):

13:15 Session 3 - aimed at KS1

14:15 Session 4

Infex Theraputics will have drop in sessions - Make a Microbe stall, where art meets science. You can find out about different types of germs and learn why antibiotics don’t cure colds. Petri dishes, plasticine, pipe cleaners and pencils at the ready. Let’s make a microbe!

There will also be face painting, food and drink stalls and more taking place throughout the day.

  • Under 3yrs are FREE
  • General admission tickets are for children age 3+ and adults, every person attending (children and adults) must have a General Admission ticket.
  • Some activities are limited spaces and these are bookable in advance, please ensure you select the slot you wish to attend in the ticket section (please only book spaces for children, not adults).
  • For activities that repeat throughout the day, please only book your activity once, to allow others the chance to attend the other sessions.
  • Failure to purchase a General Admission ticket will result in the extra add on tickets being cancelled, or refused entry into the event.
  • Refunds only accepted up to 7 days prior to the event.
