"Aletheia" is an ancient greek word which means "truth", "disclosure" or "reality". In our Aletheia writing group we want to use our writing to explore and express the spiritual reality that we feel in and around us.

This month our main theme will be thinking about the subject of Hypocrisy. Together we will look at some Spiritual writing, poetry and think about it in the context of popular culture.

The format of the group will be:

Start with nibbles and a drink (soft or hot).
A short set of readings
Pick one or more "prompts" based on what speaks to you from what we have read together.
Some time individually to WRITE...
Sharing time!

Can I share writing at the event that I have done beforehand?

Yes

Can I share writing by other poets/authors?

Yes

Does all writing have to have a "spiritual" theme?

Yes, but we accept that people understand different things by the word "spiritual". We are fine for you to share anything which meets your own definition of "spiritual".

Where is the free car parking?

The Quaker Meeting House and the Unitarian church are next to each other and share the car park in front of the two buildings. Please only park on the Quaker Meeting House side of the car park. If it is full, please park on the street.

Is this a Christian writing group?

The host (me) am a Christian but anyone is welcome to share spiritual writing of any kind.

Is there a cost to this group?

Not monetary, just your time and engagement!
