The Task:
The students at Alfriston work have been working with the Chiltern Rangers Team over several years to develop lots of wildlife areas throughout the school and do lots of ranger work to look after all they have done. They put in lots of new areas over the years (a meadow, orchard, hedgerows and wildflower and tree nursery for example and could do with extra community help to help the areas continue to thrive!
We expect there will be lots clearing around paths and seating, cutting, raking, weeding to make everything accessible for the start of school after all of the growth in the holidays.
The session will be run by Paul Stack, Chiltern Rangers Community Projects Manager, Ranger Morvern Wakefield - who regularly work with the Alfriston Students and Dave Waterman Alfriston School Assistant Head teacher. We are looking forward to seeing you for a fun and satisfying day seeing the difference we make together.
What to Bring:
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task - long sleeves & trousers are essential as there is thorny vegetation and may be ticks.
We will bring a tea kit and biscuits!
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you want to discuss anything further.
