About this event

For parents/carers living in Bristol, North Somerset, South Glos and BaNES

This session is for parents and carers who are awaiting an autism assessment for their child, have recently received an autism diagnosis for their child or those who just generally want to know more about autism. It is appropriate for parents/carers of children of all ages.

Autism is a complex neurological condition. This session aims to provide an overview of what you need to know right now to make a start on your autism parenting journey.

This session will cover:

  • What is autism?
  • What are the common traits of autism?
  • Sensory differences
  • Behaviour strategies
  • Communication tips
  • Help at school
  • A brief overview of benefits

This two-hour session will include a presentation and time for questions and answers. It will be held via Zoom. Zoom details will be available on the Online Event Page for this event once you have booked on. They will also be emailed just prior to the event.

This is a recurring event that will be held roughly once a month.
