SPECIAL GUEST DJ: RONNIE COLDSWEAT
Ronnie Coldsweat: London’s Boogie Legend and DJ, renowned for both his smooth dance moves and his skilful spinning of vinyl records. Influenced by legends such as Stevie Wonder, Santana, Donny Hathaway, ZZ Hill, and George Benson, Ronnie’s passion for music began at a young age. However, he became best known for his deep love of Prince and all things Funk.
Growing up near a popular live music venue, Ronnie was inspired by acts like Instant Funk and James Brown, sparking his journey into collecting vinyl packed with deep basslines and solid grooves. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, his involvement in London’s nightlife scene grew as he frequented iconic venues. Soon, he leapt from dancing to DJing, earning regular slots at legendary London clubs like Limelight, The Wag Club, Gossip's, The Pig, RAW, and Dance Wicked. It was during this time that the name "Ronnie Coldsweat" became synonymous with grooves that got people moving.
After spending time in Toronto, Ronnie returned to the UK and joined the DJ roster for the renowned "Weak at the Knees" nights, securing residencies in London and Glasgow. Most recently, he has been spinning regularly at Poetic Funk, thus continuing his mission to keep Funk, Soul, and Boogie alive for new generations.
Whether it’s on the dance floor or behind the decks, Ronnie Coldsweat remains a key figure in the UK’s Funk and Boogie music scene, bringing timeless grooves to life at every event, and we are super excited to have him back at All About Da Boogie on Saturday, September 5th...
