About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

We have a range of 3D-printed skulls here at the botanics, each belonging to a Scottish animal. Kids will learn to identify an animal by its skull, a fun way to look at animal behaviour and anatomy. Each child, by the end of the session, will have an animal mask to take home, made from paper templates of common Scottish animals and a huge selection of craft materials from pens and paint, to feathers and glitter!

Please be aware that children must be between the ages of 6-12 to attend. Parents are welcome to stay and enjoy the fun, or children may come along independently. We all know what the weather can be like in Scotland, so make sure that children come along appropriately dressed, with waterproofs ( layers if necessary) and some sturdy footwear for running around in the gardens. It is also important to remember a drink and a snack.

The BEES club is run by a group of volunteers with expertise in both teaching and researching about the natural world. We create in-depth and unique lessons to inspire young people's enthusiasm about the world around them by combining interactive learning and crafts. Our sessions provide creative ways for children to get involved in conservation and make positive changes in their environments!
