Trees play a large role in many parts of our lives, from producing the oxygen to breathe to the wood that builds our houses. The session will include a lesson introducing the types of trees we find locally, followed by a scavenger hunt around the gardens to ID as many as we can! Finishing up with planting our very own pine tree to take home.

Please be aware that children must be between the ages of 6-12 to attend. Parents are welcome to stay and enjoy the fun, or children may come along independently. We all know what the weather can be like in Scotland, so make sure that children come along appropriately dressed, with waterproofs ( layers if necessary) and some sturdy footwear for running around in the gardens. It is also important to remember a drink and a snack.

The BEES club is run by a group of volunteers with expertise in both teaching and researching about the natural world. We create in-depth and unique lessons to inspire young people's enthusiasm about the world around them by combining interactive learning and crafts. Our sessions provide creative ways for children to get involved in conservation and make positive changes in their environments!
