It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the All-Ireland Chief Nursing Officers’ Conference that will be held in Titanic Belfast on the 3rd of December 2019. The Theme of the Conference is Future Nurse and Midwife: Creating the Future for Population Health and Wellbeing.
This is the 6th year that we have been holding this conference and it will be attended by nurses and midwives from a variety of services across the Island. Our aim is to enable opportunities to engage in discussion, insightful debate and networking along with thought provoking speakers both international and across the island on key relevant topics. Registration begins at 9.00am. The programme will be circulated as soon as possible.

Professor Jill White
Professor Jill White is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Health at the University of Technology, Sydney. Professor White helped develop one of the first university nursing programs in Australia and chaired Australia’s largest health professional regulatory body. She was the inaugural Chair of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council, which helps to protect the health and safety of the Australian community by establishing high-quality standards of nursing and midwifery education, training and assessment. She also is the Western Pacific Region nursing representative on the Board of the Nursing Now Campaign.

Dr Barbara Stilwell
Dr Barbara Stilwell has held various high-level positions at the Geneva headquarters of the World Health Organization’s Human Resources Department. From 1998–2006, she worked with the WHO in health systems development, co-authoring the WHO’s 2006 Health Report. In July 2018 she was appointed Executive Director of Nursing Now.
Creative Session – The Scottish Ballet
The Creative Session will be presented by Catherine Cassidy, Director of Engagement for the Scottish Ballet along with her colleague Lisa Sinclair, Scottish Ballet’s Dance Health Manager. They will be showing a couple of short films that illustrate their work; one is a documentary on their Dance for Parkinson’s programme and the other an artistic film created to showcase the talents of one of their Time to Dance dancers who is living with dementia and was a professional dancer.

Dr Tedros is an Ethiopian politician, academic, and public-health authority who has been Director-General of the World Health Organization since 2017. He served as Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2012–2016. He is globally recognised as a health scholar, researcher, and diplomat with first-hand experience in research, operations, and leadership in emergency responses to epidemics.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Located just a short 5-10 minute car journey from George Best Belfast City Airport, and around a 30 minute drive from Belfast International Airport, Titanic Belfast is easily accessible via all major routes.
By Foot
Titanic Belfast is only 2.4km (1.5 miles) away from Belfast City Centre; a pleasant 25-30 minute walk.
By Car
Vehicles approaching Belfast on the M1 or M2 should follow the signs to Belfast City Airport M3, taking the first exit for Titanic Quarter. There are 520 secure, underground paid parking spaces available. Parking charges are £2 for the first hour and £1 per hour thereafter.
By Train
Translink operate regular train services from Belfast City Centre and beyond. For up-to-date information on timetables please see www.translink.co.uk. Please disembark at Titanic Quarter Station for Titanic Belfast.
From here there is pedestrian access via a footbridge, please then follow signage to Titanic Belfast. Walking time is approx. 15 mins from station.
By Bus or Glider
Translink operate Metro Services 26, 26A, 26B, 26C from Belfast City Centre - departing outside the Belfast Welcome Centre to Titanic Belfast. While the Airport Express 600, 600A, 600B services Belfast City Centre, Titanic Belfast and George Best Belfast City Airport.
