Event description

Description

A trip along the river to London’s most south-eastern outreaches gives a reminder of the city’s roots; of where it has come from and where it is going. This walk, which is in two parts, sets off from Thamesmead to Erith Lighthouse on Saturday and continues down river from Erith Lighthouse to Dartford on Sunday. Both walks will trace the river to reveal something about London’s ascent and evolution as a city. Led by International Lawns.

Lunch at the lighthouse included.

Meet at Erith Lighthouse for lunch between 12.30 - 1pm, walk starts at 2pm.

INTERNATIONAL LAWNS (IL) is a design group led by artists Niall Monro (NM) and Andrew Curtis (AC), founded in 2013.

Both Monro and Curtis live in the suburbs, Niall in West London and Andrew in South East London. They see them as the neutral space between nature in the countryside and the man–made city centre, a place where the subtle aesthetics of lawn care or garage door painting can flourish.
