Description

All that glitters IS gold explores the history of the lure of gold from ancient times up to the present day.

From the age of the Pharaos to the present day, Gold has been a symbol of wealth and propperity. Ancient civilisations worshipped gold, believing it to be the skin of their gods, while modern man has scoured the Earth's surface in search of the elusive metal.

O'Hagan's lecture follows the lust for gold; from the Spanish conquistadors through to the "rushes" of the 19th Century and on to the present day and investigating the various processes involved in gold extraction.
