About this event

Film & Media • Film

For one evening only, we’ll become a film crew—and a cast. Inspired by the lush excess of Douglas Sirk, the saturated dreamscapes of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, the radical dramas of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, and the flamboyant brilliance of Pedro Almodóvar, we’re going to shoot our very own (somewhat trashy) melodrama.

Think bold emotions, extravagant costumes, and dramatic camera angles. Come ready to dress up and become a star—or, if you’d rather stay behind the scenes, we’ll have plenty of roles to fill: lights, sound, props, and production. Come dressed up, or if you can't find anything, we'll bring a collection of outfits.

The finished melodrama will premiere the following week at the Dada Cabaret and Christmas Party.
