Since April 2015 new laws have meant that you've never had more freedom or choice when it comes to your retirement. For many the new 'pension freedoms' have meant that individuals have been able to flexibly access the money in their pension pots and enjoy their life in retirement.
However whilst 'pension freedoms' have undoubtedly been a chance for many to access their money succesfully there have also been unintended consequences.
Firstly Scammers have used the changes in regulation to continously target both retired people and individuals approaching retirement with 'too good to be true' arrangements designed to part hard working people with their money.
Secondly individuals have withdrawn money without fully understanding the tax implications and finding themselves incurring large tax bills unexpectedly.
Thirdly many individuals have started to withdraw money from their pension pots and are finding themselves faced with the money in the pot running out a lot sooner than they expected. This means they are faced with a growing difference between the income they'd like and a rapidly diminishing pot of money to fill this 'income gap' for the time required.
So, if you're recently retired or are quickly approaching retirement, and especially if you're wondering how to get the best (and avoid the worst) of pension freedoms this event is for you...
At this event Chris will explain:-
* How scammers are using pension freedoms as a tool to dupe hard working people, the impact of being scammed, and the steps you can take to ensure you avoid these scams.
* How to understand whether your assets are sufficient to provide you with the income you desire for the rest of your life through proper planning.
* Why understanding the tax implications of withdrawing money from your pension is important and how to ensure you are taking tax into account when utilising pension freedoms.
* Why many individuals look for advice when utilising pension freedoms and why you may decide to too.
