Event description
How can we create sustainable, enabling environments for women and girls? Join us as we explore practical solutions to this pressing issue.

About this Event

Open to both non-members and members of Scotland's International Development Alliance, our 2019 annual conference promises to be our most ambitious yet!

Join 200 representatives from across Scotland's diverse and vibrant international development community for a day of inspiring keynote speeches, interactive workshops and valuable networking opportunities.

Putting our overarching theme of gender front and centre, we'll explore what can be done to bring about progress and enact lasting change on key issues, including women and girls' rights, climate change, education, poverty, and more. View the draft programme here.

Confirmed Contributors:

  • Ben Macpherson MSP, Scotland's Minister for Europe, Migration and International Development
  • Professor Tahseen Jafry, Director of Glasgow Caledonian University's Centre for Climate Justice
  • Memory Kachambwa, Executive Director of the African Women's Development and Communication Network (FEMNET)
  • Olaoluwa Abagun, lawyer and women's rights activist, and founder of the Nigerian NGO, Girl Pride Circle.

More speakers to be announced in the weeks to come!

With a range of engaging, participatory breakout sessions in both the morning and afternoon sessions, you'll have the chance to tailor the day according to your specific interests and area of expertise.
