We are holding a UK wide Forum on Thursday 9th October 2025 to consider how children develop resilience. In a time when it is becoming more difficult for children to experience a healthy childhood, we’ll ask what creates the environment a child needs to grow and develop resilience and also look at ways we could help to bring it about. We invite you to join us and bring your expertise and experience to share. The venue is the Slade Adventure Playground, a beautiful setting in South London. You can also join online.
Speakers include Sue Palmer, author of Toxic Childhood and founder of Upstart Scotland, Michaela Carmichael, Trustee of Slade Gardens Community Play Association and Senior Advisor for Common Sense Media UK and Christopher Clouder, Co-Founder of the Alliance for Childhood.
In the morning speakers will introduce a few of the themes in a panel discussion. We’ll follow up after lunch with conversations in small groups and round off the day with a plenum session.
