About this event

As part of our autumn workshop series, the Alliance for Dignified Food Support is running dedicated sessions with staff and volunteers from the community food sector to co-design a Charter of Rights.

We know that people involved in food support work often go above and beyond to meet growing need, but this can take a serious toll on mental health, wellbeing and personal boundaries. Many volunteers and staff are experiencing burnout, exhaustion and emotional strain, yet feel unable to step back because of a deep sense of responsibility.

This workshop is a space to:

  • Share your experiences of what support is lacking
  • Identify what needs to change to make food support more sustainable for the people delivering it
  • Explore ideas for a Charter of Rights that protects the dignity, safety and wellbeing of those working in this space

These workshops are free, online, and participatory, with plenty of ways to contribute, whether you prefer to speak, write or just listen and reflect.

Open to anyone working or volunteering in community food support or charitable food aid.
