Poster hints and tips

Poster content

What is the title of your poster?
Consider what the main message(s) is/are?
Keep words to a minimum and where possible use illustrations to convey and enhance the message.

Poster size

The poster should be A1 in size (594 mm x 841 mm).

Poster layout

Posters are best arranged as 2,3 or 4 columns with the information flowing down then across.
Add a large title at the top of the whole poster that can be read about 10 metres away.

Poster colours

For reading ease use a light colour background and dark contrasting text.
Keep to a theme of 2-3 colours only.

Editing your poster

Once you have your first draft, re-read it and ask someone else to read it as well.

Contact details
