Description
Allographic has three forms of live event – “Other Voices”, open mic with featured guests every last Sunday of the month; “Allographic presents…”, a loose series of events with bigger names from the spoken word scene, and a burgeoning set of workshops for aspirant poets, storytellers, and other writers and performers.

“The Brain & The City Poetry” – Creating new poems about our brains’ relationship to the city led by Claire Trevien (free entry, donations taken)
A poetry workshop exploring poems that negotiate bodies or brains through the lens of a city, with a focus on work created by disabled poets. We’ll then be writing poems about our bodies’ own relationship with its everyday environment. Experienced poets and novices are welcome alike, the workshop will provide techniques and exercises to help make this accessible.

Suitable for: adults, wheelchair users, intermediate writers, experienced writers, novice performers, intermediate performers, experienced performers
Materials: pen, paper/ notebook
Entry is free but you will have an opportunity to pay what you think the workshop was worth afterwards. All the money goes to the workshop leader.

Claire Trévien is an Anglo-Breton author. Born in Brittany in 1985, she resided in the UK for nearly two decades and performed her work internationally, from South Africa to New Orleans. She is the author of The Shipwrecked House (Penned in the Margins, 2013), Astéronymes (Penned in the Margins, 2016), and most recently the pamphlet Brain Fugue (Verve Poetry Press, 2019). She was a module leader on LCCM's Creative and Professional Writing degree. She has now moved back to her native Brittany.
