Event description

Description

Margot Henderson, formerly of Wellington, New Zealand moved to London in the 1980s, working in landmark restaurants before meeting and marrying Fergus Henderson and opening their first restaurant together at The French House. Over the last twenty years Margot and her partner Melanie have built up an international catering business based at their restaurant Rochelle Canteen in London’s Shoreditch. Into its early teens the Canteen was only open weekday lunchtimes and built up a reputation as a hospitality favourite, for foodies to enjoy languid lunches in the sun. It's now open weekends and some dinners too, and remains London's worst kept food secret. On events their family feasting style attracts art, fashion and private clientele alike and, having catered for many of London’s largest art galleries, in 2017 they moved into one, opening Rochelle ICA.

One of our very first customers upon arriving in the UK, Claire Ptak's Wilton way Prada Mafia inspired institution produces some of Hackney's finest cakes and puds. Claire Ptak left Chez Panisse in California to move to London and open Violet bakery in Hackney, which rose to fame when Claire was commissioned to bake the cake for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. Claire is also a food writer and food stylist.
