On the 25th October 2017 Project Aspie (in conjunction with BMAG museum) presents a Special Mid-Week Debut Session of Third Series of ‘Alphabet 12’ which focuses on Practical Approaches Exploring ASD which features Special Lead Guest Speaker Dr. Zoee Bartholomew, from CA, USA.

The session will also feature various Special Guest Speakers from various regions in the UK and Special Webinar Guest Speakers.

Justin Donne, Tom Weir and Mudassar Yasin at Project Aspie will be Event Hosts.

The Special Mid-Week Session will be Admission Ticket only and cost of tickets is £15.00, (proceeds will be divided between BMAG and Alphabet Quad activities).

The Special Mid-Week Session will take place at The Education Space, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery between 1:30pm - 4:00pm. Refreshments and the opportunity to network will occur between 12:00pm-12.45pm.

Dr. Zoee Bartholomew also known as “Dr. Behave” is an innovative educator specializing in facilitating how to manage challenging behaviors and address special education programming. She creatively engages with her audience through appealing to their real life problems. You can see her at work in classroom settings, in client’s homes, in the community, in a conference room, or in a meeting hall where she cleverly teaches with a direct yet calming approach. Dr. Behave is a dynamic public speaker; who captures her audience through humorous life examples to make information easily understandable to a wide variety of audiences. She is seen as a support provider serving parents, teachers, administrators, community partners, and all other stakeholders in the special needs community. Dr. Behave is an ardent advocate of the special needs community who actively participates in several local advisory groups to develop policies to maintain quality and equitable services for special needs children and adults.

Project Aspie – ‘Alphabet 12’:

Project Aspie created ‘Alphabet 12’- an interactive and versatile Autism Opportunity Group for people with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism; empowering them to live healthy and independent lives within the community and society.

It is free and is suitable for people who meet the following criteria:

  • Aged 16+
  • Have Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism or interact (on a professional or personal level) with service users
  • Reside in Birmingham and West Midlands region
  • Want to meet other people with Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism

'Alphabet 12’ offers service users the chance to explore opportunities that will bring Confidence and Motivation.

This includes various subjects and themes including Creative Arts, Education, Employment, Health and much more. The audience of ‘Alphabet 12’ includes Advocates, Carers, Families, Parents, Siblings and Support Workers to name some examples. Various guest speakers of different ages, backgrounds, cultures and professions regularly feature on every monthly session of ‘Alphabet 12’.
