Alpine Wine and Cheese
Mon 24 October 2016, 19:00 – 21:00 BST
The Alps are home to some of the most distinct cheeses, and it’s the also the region with which we work most. Its wine production is far less known, but the region is blessed with an altitude and soil which produce wines with amazing freshness and clarity.
The nature of growing grapes and raising animals in the Alps lends itself more to small production, with much of the work done by hand. Vines are separated into different parcels in valleys between mountains and their relation to these affects the ripening of the fruit. Similarly, animals are raised at different altitudes according to the season and the snowfall, and this greatly affects the flavour of the milk they produce.
We will be tasting six wines and six cheeses.
10% discount is available on bottles tasted on the night.
