Alternative Finance Workshop – Changing Hearts and Minds
Thu 8 June 2017, 08:30 – 13:00 BST
Save the Date
This half-day event provides an insight into crowdfunding from the perspective of the main stakeholders: the platform, the investors and the borrowers. Contributions from both InvestNI and the banking sector provide additional insight into the world of SME finance.
Equity crowdfunding is a nascent industry and, to date, there have only been a couple of exits from businesses that have raised money through such platforms. As the sector continues to develop and mature, the truly successful crowdfunded companies that have the potential to flourish will do so, and investors that have backed those businesses will see the consequent returns.
Our view would be that the crowdfunding market in Northern Ireland is currently small and concentrated in the greater Belfast area.
