Event description

Description

The Royal Bank of Scotland is delighted to invite you along to our upcoming event to help signpost alternative support to Business. On the morning Breakfast rolls, teas and coffees will be provided with ample chance to network with like minded Businesses before we go on to two short presentations.

Presentation 1 - Interface

Based regionally throughout Scotland and with connections into all Scotland’s universities, research institutes and colleges Interface works with individual and groups of businesses of all sizes, in all sectors, to match them to world-leading academic expertise, research, technologies and specialist facilities to help them grow. Hear from Carol-Ann Adams, Business Engagement Executive for the Highlands and Islands, on how we have supported companies and examples of the types of projects that have been undertaken with academia.

Presentation 2 - Scotgrad

In the Highlands and Islands, ScotGrad delivers a Graduate and Student Placement Programme on behalf of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) to account managed clients. The aim of the programme is to facilitate change and growth for an organisation, through graduates and students delivering placement projects focusing on innovation, internationalisation, process improvement, product development and utilising digital opportunities. The programme gives an organisation an opportunity to carry out a specific project which would otherwise not be undertaken.

In addition, HIE will deliver a further technology graduate and student placement programme on behalf of the Northern Innovation Hub, as part of the Inverness City Deal funding in 2018. The technology graduate and student placement programme has been designed to help small trading or start-up enterprises in The Highland Council region, implement the latest technology to accelerate business growth and create a competitive and more productive business base. These businesses are not necessarily account managed by HIE.

Hear from Karla Sam-Sin, ScotGrad Programme Manager – Highlands and Islands, on how HIE have supported organisations and examples of the types of graduate and student projects previously supported. Both programmes are part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
