Basildon Council’s employability and skills hub is hosting our fourth annual fair for young people reconsidering their options following the exam results.
This event is also open to young adults who have left education and not yet found work or those who discovered once they were in employment that the career path they began on was not for them.
The Alternative Options fair is an opportunity to meet apprenticeship and training providers with opportunities across a wide range of sectors to get your career off to the right start. This is also a chance to get advice and support.
Exhibitors will include:
- ACL – apprenticeships and skills bootcamps
- Debut Academy – hair and beauty courses
- DWP - benefits advice for young people and parents
- Essex Youth Service - employability and skills for young people
- Morgan Sindall Property Services – employer with live vacancies
- SEND Careers Advice Service
- South Essex College – courses for 16-18s
- STC Group – multi trade skills courses
- TCHC – vocational courses for 16-18s or up to 24 with an EHCP
- USP College – courses for 16-18s
- USP Supported Internships – work experience for young people up to 25 with an EHCP
- VTS – apprenticeships in health & social care, childcare, and teaching assistance
The Alternative Options fair is on Monday 1st September, 11:00am-1:00pm, at Pathways in the Basildon Centre, St. Martin's Square, Basildon, SS14 1DL.
Booking to attend by young people is encouraged, adults accompanying them do not need to book.
