Shiatsu is a manipulative therapy developed in Japan. It involves the therapist applying pressure to meridian pathways on the body. Shiatsu is based on similar principles to acupuncture but the practitioner will use their fingers, thumbs, palms, elbows, knees or feet instead of needles.

The aim is to maintain physical and mental well being, treat dis-ease, or alleviate discomfort.

This therapy is considered to be holistic because it attempts to treat the whole person instead of a specific medical complaint.

It may be beneficial for the following conditions:

Back Pain Addictions Digestive problems

Stress Asthma ME and exhaustion

Depression Infertility Migraines/headaches

Anxiety Abuse issues Joint problems

Sciatica PMT

Shiatsu is also believed to improve circulation and boos the immune system as well as helping clients to understand, and aim to improve, their own health and general wellbeing.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.
