About this event

Visual facilitation skills and practical applications

Today’s world is visual! We are bombarded with visuals everyday as we scroll through the news and our social media channels. Information is now more than ever communicated through photographs, videos, infographics and illustrations. Drawing works! Our brain remembers information better, we become more creative and often we gain new insights when we use pictures. In this training you will learn how to draw everything you can think of and how to use visuals in your studies and professional life. During the day we will dive into many practical applications and you will come away empowered that you can do this too (especially when you think you cannot draw!). This training links to the previous day’s facilitation skills workshop, but can also be taken as a stand-alone activity.

Important:

Please note there is a limited number of places in both training days. We expect you to take your registration as a commitment to show up and actively participate for the whole day.

About the trainer:

Willemijn Lambert (MA Conflict Resolution 2010-2011) worked in the NGO sector as program coordinator for Creators of Peace Circles, a women's peacebuilding program of Initiatives of Change. In this capacity she facilitated national and international dialogues and creative sessions. In her work she was taught by pioneers in complexity studies and participatory facilitation methods. In 2015, returning from a solo cycling trip of 100 days and 3200 miles around the North Sea, she founded her current company Drawin'. With Drawin' she specializes in visual facilitation: capturing the essence of meetings and strategy documents through visuals. Having worked with over 250 organizations and businesses she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in how to design participatory decision-making processes, how to facilitate meaningful conversations and how to draw up these meetings."

With questions, please feel free to get in touch with Sanna Tukiainen (PSID) in s.k.tukiainen1@bradford.ac.uk
