Event description

Description

Professional Development day with Richard Holding, DO

Richard Holding will be delivering a 1-day seminar on his view of the concept of a spiritual fulcrum, including both lectures and practicals. With his unique style of osteopathy, through which he has combined his knowledge of applied kinesiology and acupuncture points, Richard will explore an approach to prioritising treatment for the body.

The idea of the spiritual fulcrum arose in 1978 while Rollin Becker was staying with Richard Holding. They discussed a patient who had his coccyx surgically removed. “Ah,” said Rollin, “He’s lost his spiritual fulcrum.”

Left with that thought to ponder for 40 years, Richard will now present his thoughts on the concept of the spiritual fulcrum and will use practical sessions to find and explore its therapeutic potential.

This 1-day course is a rare opportunity as Richard rarely teaches in the UK.

7 hours CPD

About the course leader

Richard Holding brings with him experience from almost 50 years in practice, as well as having previously taught along side Rollin Becker, Anne Wales, Robert Fulford and Harold Magoun.

Richard taught for the SCTF for many years and, alongside our own Stuart Korth, proposed the early changes which moved the course towards what we know it as now. Richard also taught at the BSO, introducing the first advanced cranial course on Infants and Children in 1981 and Applied Kinesiology to the Postgraduate Training program in 1983.

Having previously built up a very successful practice in Herefordshire, Richard now works in London treating a global list of patients with his unique approach to osteopathy.

Please note: lunch is not provided, there is a range of local food options and a small kitchen on the premises.
