LSBU Alumni Seminars – Together, our ideas create solutions

How do we help older people adopt new technology?

Last in the Alumni Seminar series, David Mark (Business Studies, 1994) discuss the relationship between technology and health. This interactive and results-driven seminar is for you to contribute to, and uncover the solutions to, his very relevant and pressing question.

David will provide a detailed exploration of how technology can improve the health and lifestyle and you will have the space to discuss and brainstorm with your peers to discover the best ways we can get old people to adopt technology.

Sharing your knowledge will continue into the networking session where there will be an opportunity to build professional relationships and connections while you take away key learnings and ideas.

About David:

David Mark is a Creative Services Specialist and Co-Founder of Hello Daisy, a physical device that internet enables any TV to allow older people to connect with family and friends in an easy and fear-free manner. This innovation reduces the widening gap of social and digital exclusion for older people. Improved connectivity is the catapult to empowering them to use the Hello Daisy platform for self-care especially around falls prevention and other pressing health issues.

David believes
too much emphasis is placed on 'doing health' to older people and not enough on creating joy and purpose first, which in turn creates the motivation for self-care and improving personal health and wellbeing.
