On the evening of Tuesday 19th November, the School of Law has the pleasure of welcoming back 1986 alumna Helen Grantham, 1996 alumna Sarah Clarke and 1997 alumna Sarah Henchoz. The purpose of this event is to showcase to our students three incredibly successful women in Law; and inspire and encourage our female students to enter a profession in which the majority of senior positions are still occupied by men. Everyone is very welcome to attend the talks and networking, but please note that the dinner is open to women students only.

From 6.00pm, our alumni will speak for approximately 15 minutes each about their career journey to date, before the floor is then opened to questions. Following the Q&A, guests will be invited to chat informally and network over drinks.

From 7.45pm, a group of female students will attend a dinner with our alumni visitors and Deputy Head of School, Professor Joan Loughrey, at University House. If the number of dinner applicants exceeds the total number of places available guests will be selected based on the quality of their comments.

Helen Grantham is the Group Secretary and General Counsel for the Co-op. Helen joined the Co-op as Group Secretary in January 2016. Helen qualified as a solicitor in 1989 and for the last 20 years has practised as both a General Counsel and Company Secretary for listed companies working at Board level, most recently for Dixons Carphone PLC.

Sarah Clarke is Director of Legal and Commercial Affairs at ITV. Sarah joined ITV in 2009 having previously worked as a Senior Associate for Reed Smith LLP and an Associate at Theodore Goddard.

Sarah Henchoz is a Partner at Magic Circle Law Firm Allen and Overy. Sarah has considerable experience advising clients on the full range of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Prior to working at Allen & Overy, Sarah spent two years as an in-house employment lawyer where she developed a practical and commercial approach to problem solving in a unionised workforce.
