ALWAYS: TECHNOLOGIES OF JOY

Come and join us for the second edition of ALWAYS: Homegrown Cinema at CKE [Bradbury Works] located in the heart of Dalston. ALWAYS: Homegrown Cinema is a fresh bi-monthly film night based in London, dedicated to Black and African cinema.

For the second edition, ALWAYS returns with Technologies of Joy, a certy selection of films exploring Black technological imaginations. Rumbling like a bassline from the belly of Detroit, finding a deep pulse like the midnight highways of Durban, skanking off the sweat of a warehouse party that never ends.

Curated by Python House and Fubu Film Club, ALWAYS invites you to depart from the standard film selection and reinstate the frequencies they tried to bury.

The screening will be introduced by a specially curated DJ set by Tone focused on Black Electronica, African Electronica and Afro futurist frequencies.
