The course will take place in the Spring over five Monday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on 24th February, 3rd March, 10th March, 17th March and 24th March. The course will be held online via Zoom.

During the course we will hear from a variety of ministers: ordained and lay ministers, incumbents and assistants, stipendiary and SSM and chaplains. We will listen to a number of speakers and there will be opportunities to ask questions and to talk together in small groups. Participants will have the opportunity to share their our own sense of call with one another. During the final session we will be thinking about the next steps.

Each week there will be an opportunity to chat to other participants as we go into breakout rooms and during the break. There will also be an opportunity to reflect together as a group. The timetable for most evenings and the shape of the course is set out below.

24 February 2025 - Responding to God’s call – we hear from recently licensed or ordained minsters about their story of God’s call

3rd March 2025 - God’s call to ordained ministry and licensed lay ministry. We hear from experienced clergy and experienced LLM about the nature of their calling and shape of their ministry.

10th March 2025 - The shape of ministry. We hear from those whose shape of ministry is different from the traditional incumbent role.

17th March 2025 - The shape of ministry contd / Sharing our stories. We hear from those whose shape of ministry is different from the traditional incumbent role.

24th March 2025 - Discernment and Training for Ministry in the Church of England: Processes, Support and the next steps.
