Description

AMERICAN ACCENT: CULTURE TO CHARACTER with HAZEL HOLDER & DEIDRE MCLAUGHLIN

DATE: Sunday April 8th

TIME: 10am-6pm

LOCATION: Old Vic Workrooms, 16 Drummond Road, Bermondsey, SE16 2JX

HOW WILL IT WORK?

In this practical full day workshop we will explore developing American accents and characters – embracing an in depth exploration of the vocal energy, dynamic presence and the physicality of performing American role.

This session will include team teaching with an established industry accent coach and an American actor trainer who have worked together for the past four years with experience directing and coaching multiple American productions. Together they will help you identify how you can merge a physical approach to accent and text to embrace that swagger and create vivid American characters on stage.

PREPARATION:

Please bring in a monologue or scene to be worked in a General American accent. This workshop will primarily cover the General American and African American accents, but will also touch on other American accents where needed.

COST: £45
