Mark George QC (Head of Chambers and Amicus Trustee) will be delivering an invaluable insight into the US death penalty and the work that Amicus do to fight for justice on death row.
There are over 3,200 people currently on death row in the United States. They are universally poor, many have serious mental health issues, and still others were the victims of gross racism during the trial process. Large numbers were represented by inadequate counsel and once convicted, many lack the funds to secure counsel to help them with their appeal.
If you share the same passion to right such wrongs and ensure all have the equal right to a fair trial, come along to the event and get more information on how you can get involved in internships to assist the charity's work.
