Amigurumi - Workshop with April Towriess
Sat 8 July 2017, 10:00 – 13:00 BST
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting stuffed toys and dolls.
Following the pattern provided and working in the round, April will explain the basics of increasing and decreasing to create 3D forms.
Once you’ve got the hang of increasing and decrease and have made your simple animal friend, it’s time to design your own. Adapt the pattern provided or start from scratch. This workshop is one of April’s most creative and allows participants to use their creativity to produce unique 3D forms.
Never followed a pattern before? Feeling daunted by designing your own? Don’t fear, guidance will be on hand throughout the session to explain where to start, different pattern formats and what different abbreviations mean.
This class is aimed at experienced beginners. You must be able to hold your hook and yarn and know the basic stitches.
What’s included? Expert tuition throughout the session and follow up support afterwards, crochet hook, wide selection of coloured yarn, toy stuffing, as well as printed instructions to complete your amigurumi toy. Plus tea/coffee/cake.
