Human Rights Action Centre
17-25 New Inn Yard Shoreditch London EC2A 3EA United KingdomDescription
Amnesty International UK’s Youth Conference 2017 is a one-day event for members of Amnesty UK’s youth groups. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet other youth groups and Amnesty staff, hear inspiring speakers, go to interesting workshops and, of course, take action for human rights.
A whole host of human rights themes will be covered on the day but there will be a particular emphasis on our refugees campaign, I Welcome.
Please note, there are restrictions on the number of tickets you can book. We would be greatful if you could read the full details about the event below before booking. We hope to see you there!
Tickets
We expect this event to be very popular and are therefore restricting numbers of tickets to 8 students and one responsible adult per youth group. If not coming with an adult 9 students may attend. An absolute maximum of 9 individuals per youth group may attend, this is to allow as many youth groups as possible to benefit from this learning and sharing experience.
We politely request that individuals do not do multiple bookings to get more tickets than the allocated 9 per group. If there are overbookings, we cannot guarantee entry and your request may be automatically refunded and your tickets allocated to someone else.
The conference is only open to youth groups officially registered with Amnesty International UK. If your group isn't yet affiliated please contact the email address below for information on how to join.
We will operate a waiting list if the conference books out. After fulfilling the waiting list we will release any remaining tickets on a first come first served basis.
Please note: We politely request that you let us know as soon as possible if any of your party can no longer make the conference. This is so we can give the opportunity to another youth group member.
Tickets are free of charge.
Adult accompaniment
Youth group members may attend without an adult. However, we will require written permission from a parent and school/college for all under 18s.
Recommended audience age
There are no age restrictions for the event. However, please be aware that we're creating content with 14-18 year olds in mind.
Lunch
We will provide a basic lunch including vegetarian and halal options where necessary. Delegates are of course free to bring their own or buy lunch from one of the many local cafes.
